Browser view > Hey WoMos I trust you are all well.  The weather has improved in London so if you are UK based, I hope you are enjoying the possibility that Spring is here.  A bit of sunshine is always good for the soul.   As you know we are in a fund raise for WoMo at the moment, and I went to a great event at the London Stock Exchange all about female funding. I was utterly disheartened to find only 1% of VC funding goes to Female Founders.   So you will find a bit of a rant on the WoMo blog.  We also have two Meet the WoMos interviews for you, Olivia and Naomi, and details of a wonderful retreat.  Have an amazing week WoMos   I FEEL ANGRY FOR FEMALE FOUNDERS   I attended a brilliant event this week hosted by David Horne to raise awareness on the fight for fairer funding. We heard from inspirational Female Founders, telling their story and the struggles they had to raise funds to grow incredible ideas. All of which are now successful. It was wonderful to hear the good stories of success, and yet David shared a few depressing facts. In 2020, 2.4% of VC funding went to Female Founders. In 2021, that dropped to 1%. If you have a male Co-Founder you fare slightly better, with 15.6% of funding in 2021. Male Founders/All male teams receive 83.4%. Women are disadvantaged from the outset. As well as being an award winning wedding planner and venue consultant, Olivia and her sister Jess, co-founded The Mum Retreat during lockdown, an online community where mums receive some much needed 'me-time'.  Read Olivia's post here >>> MEET THE WOMOS: NAOMI Naomi is 33 and a mum, wife, marketeer and equestrian. She has a toddler called Fin who is almost 2 and one on the way who shares a due date with Fin on April 14th!  Naomi works full time as Group Head of Marketing for a PLC: Mears Group. She loves her job and has worked hard to get where she is  today but says 'Wow, the mum juggle is real!'
