| | It's Tough Being The Introverted Mom To An Extroverted Kid | | They say the apple doesn't fall far from the tree, but you'd have a tough time convincing some of us introverts. Today Samm Burnham Davidson writes about the challenges of raising a wildly outgoing kid when you're more the type to hang back. She writes: "Once I found her on the other side of the neighborhood jumping on a woman's newly blown-up bouncy house with her two kids. We had met them once. So often I end up outside, disheveled and unprepared, trying not to look like a neglectful mother, hanging out, making conversation, and being social — just like her." Been there!

| | | | | | BIRTH | I'm A C-Section Mom Four Times Over, And I Wouldn't Have It Any Other Way | | "I would not have chosen the path of the O.R. table, with my arms spread wide, the chrome overhead lights reflecting a strange scene below (is that my liver?), the nurses and doctors all scrubbed and netted, everything bright and surgical. I had pictured a different backdrop for my babies' entrances to the world, but if there's one thing I've learned as a parent, it's to stop worrying about how I once pictured things," writes Hampton Williams Hofer in this thoughtful piece. | |
