I posted some cooking, packing with me content on my YouTube channel as we were venturing on this trip. I get a call at 1 am last night from my daughter asking me if I was reading my comments. I guess I had a influx of insanity venture into my channel. This is not the first time, however, this was particularly nasty. I asked my daughter to get on my Youtube and take the video down for a bit. My husband was appalled about how nasty women are and mildly amused at how stupid men are.
I had my daughter take it down for me so I can enjoy our trip in peace. I have a great sense of humor and sometimes, I can be self-mocking. My goodness, my daughter will post on my Facebook how obsessive I can be about the house, I grew up with a hoarder, and I am entitled to a house that makes me and my family smile. My adult daughter can joke about it because she is now aware of how hard it is to keep a house together. She always thought I was kidding when I said just wait, someday you will realize you had it made living at home.
So, am I angry? No, not a bit, I aspire to do standup for fun. I often do it in the grocery store.
For those without a thick skin, when you enter people's social spaces, think before you post. You do not if you are hurting that person's feelings. Always ask yourself, is it kind, is necessary, and have you worded the comment the way you meant it?
