An old song but a goodie. but we also find the words, in Nehemiah 8 verse 10:
'The Joy of the Lord is my strength'.
And the song:
The Joy of the Lord is my strength, the joy of the Lord is my strength For He gives me living waters and I thirst no more.
If you were to sing this over and over when you are a bit down or any time for that matter. Let it get inside your thinking.
Yes as strange as it sounds The Joy of Knowing the Lord.
The Joy of living for the Lord.
The Joy of being under His covering.
The Joy of having the Lord close to you.
It is talking about an intimate friendship with Our Lord and Our Friend. It is a special feeling that gives you an inner glow, a glow in your spirit. {not a a fuzzy feeling of the world}.
I am sure if you are on a downer and just start singing The Joy of The Lord is my strength over and over again, you will soon loose the bad feelings and you will be overtaken by the Joy of Knowing the Lord.
The Joy that God loves me, that He gave His only begotten Son for you and me.
Another great old song: This Joy that I have the world didn't give it to me, and the world can't take it away.
It is a supernatural Joy given free by the Grace of God.
A Joy that flows through us Body, Soul and Spirit.
It is an eternal Joy.
The Joy of The Lord surpasses any joy the world may have. The Joy of The Lord is a fruit of the Spirit, it is yours for you to grow in.
God wants us to be Joyful as we witness for Him. Fill yourself with the Joy of The Lord and people will want what you have.
