Today's focus was getting ahead of the grocery bill and a bit of meal prepping for the next few days with a bit of hands-on time. In four hours, I was able to assemble make-ahead pizza crusts, hand pies, dairy products, and pasta. For the first two hours, I focused on making the ice cream and yogurt, while I making the doughs. I made 48 ice pops. I made pitchers of lavender mint lemonade, cucumber and mint water, and iced tea.
I baked my loaves of bread and English muffins in my solar oven. The results were good. I baked the hand pies. I saved many dollars and packaging for the enriched treats that my family likes. It is hot on the dunes. I made naturally sweet treats full of fruit and greens. The family will be enjoying coconut milk orange banana ice cream, green smoothie pops, and watermelon mint pops. It is over 90 today, however, there are things that need to be done. I was glad to see that my solar oven baked a decent loaf of bread,
The practice of shifting time to save time makes it easy to manage the dinner hour on busy days. It is reassuring to have a homecooked meal waiting for us in the freezer that can be prepped quickly. Now, we are in the thick of gardening season, I am sometimes on a different schedule than was planned.
I baked potatoes while I was baking bread. I boiled potatoes, eggs, and pasta for cold salads. I cooked chicken and pork. I did black beans, chickpeas, and white beans in the instant pots. I made a gallon of soup. It is funny my family loves hot meals all year long. While I was on my last trip, our neighbor borrowed my air fryer. I told her she could have it. So, she gave the instant pot she didn't care for. So, I can do different meal components at the same time The fridge is stocked with healthy meal components. The gardens are in full bloom. So, I can make meals with ease.
I managed to cut the dog's nails without assistance after all this was done. The clothes are hanging on the line.
