Power to Change's Powering Up Programme To Re-Open Shortly
The Powering Up Programme, provided by Power to Change, is set to reopen to applications on 4th July, 2022.
The programme supports community businesses in the key areas of digital growth, environmental sustainability, and financial resilience, with a cross cutting theme of equity, diversity and inclusion.
Power to Change will hold two webinars on 4th July (one at 1pm and one at 6pm) to give people information about applying into the next round of Powering Up. Registration is via the Power to Change website.
Full details of the second round will be provided when the scheme opens on 4th July, 2022.
Councils Invited to Apply for Woodland Creation Accelerator Fund
The £8 million Woodland Creation Accelerator Fund (WCAF) is designed to provide financial support to increase the capacity of specialist skills within local authorities enabling them in turn to accelerate the delivery of tree planting and woodland creation commitments.
The overall objective of the fund is to enable more trees planted particularly in winter seasons 2023/24 and 2024/25.
The WCAF is a revenue only fund (funding new staff and/or consultants). The Commission would expect typical applications to seek funding for new posts such as woodland creation officers, community engagement posts, project officers, specialist consultants or a blend of these.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on 8th July, 2022.
The VocTech Seed Fund is currently accepting applications from organisations across all sectors, including charities, trade bodies, existing learning providers and employers.
Grants of between £15,000 and £50,000 are available to support the exploration of new approaches to using technology to enable adult skills development.
The grants can be used to support a wide range of learners with particular interest in supporting sectors, locations, skills levels and individuals that have not been well served by mainstream provision.
The funder is offering pre-application online workshops which will take place on 5th July and 11th July. Registration is via the UfiVocTech Trust website.
Applications will be accepted until 13th July, 2022 (5pm).
Home Office Launches Support for Victims and Survivors of Child Sexual Abuse Fund
The Home Office is inviting voluntary sector organisations to apply to this three-year, £4.5 million fund.
The funding is for proposed services and activities that directly support victims and survivors of child sexual abuse at a national level and take place over a three-year period.
The services should be offered over a large geographical area, which must be at least three Police and Crime Commissioner areas.
The deadline for applications is 12am on 25th July, 2022.
Innovate UK Announces New £30m Fast Start Boost for Cutting Edge Start-Ups
Innovate UK is launching a new series of Fast Start grants worth £30 million to support UK start-ups and entrepreneurs to develop new innovative products, processes and services, building the UK's future economy in key sectors from healthcare to climate technology.
There are two challenge themes:
Achieving net zero and reducing environmental impact.
Self-driven and de-centralised healthcare and mental wellbeing.
The funding is for projects:
Between 3 and 6 months with total project costs between £25,000 and £50,000.
That can start by 1 November 2022 and end by 30 April 2023.
Applications open on 11th July, 2022 with a deadline of 27th July, 2022 (11am).
Funding to Promote Opportunities for Youth Leadership
Blagrave Charitable Trust has announced the opening of its Listening Fund's Advisers' Fund. The Fund led by a panel of ten young people advisers, aims to create new opportunities for young people and ensure their expertise is utilised in leadership positions.
With a total funding pot of £500,000, grants of up to £40,000 over two years are available.
Youth-focused charities and non-profit organisations that are supporting young people (aged 10 to 30) may apply.
Woodward Charitable Trust's General Fund Opens for Summer Application's
The Woodward Charitable Trust awards grants of up to £3,000.
The funding can support a range of core costs applications will be considered from registered charities, charitable incorporated organisations, community interest companies and exempt charities.
The deadline for applications is 29th July, 2022 (12pm).
7Stars Foundation Accepting Applications for Second Round of Funding in 2022
7Stars Foundation is offering grants of up to £2,500 for registered charities to support young people aged 16 and under who are young carers or are challenged by abuse and addiction, homelessness, and lack of access to safe spaces.
There are four application rounds in 2022.
The next deadline for applications is 31st July, 2022.
Launch of Digital Growth Grants to Support Tech Start-Ups
The Digital Growth Grant is intended to boost the growth of innovative tech start-ups and scale-ups. It will focus on opening up access to skills training and advice, and providing support services to the digital and tech sector, including improving connections with investors.
The scheme is inviting bids to accelerate the growth of tech start-up and scale-up ecosystems across the regions and nations of the UK. The successful bidder will be awarded up to £12.09 million to be spent over two financial years 2023/24 and 2024/25.
The deadline for applications to be submitted is 15th August, 2022 (12:00pm).
The Business Boost competition is designed to help small businesses bounce back from economic challenges, and boost the chances of new start-ups. The scheme can help those wishing to start, grow or revive a small business.
The winner will be awarded a £25,000 grant.
The competition is open entrepreneurs and businesspeople aged 18 and over.
Round 2 of the Asda Foundation U18 Better Start Grants
Not-for-profit organisations working to benefit children and young people under 18 years of age can apply for funding for a range of activities that address the following:
Provision of essential items eg, food, hygiene products.
Encourage physical activity.
Improve mental health.
Celebrations within communities eg, summer holiday events.
Application support and guidance are available from Asda Community Champions based in local Asda superstores. Completed forms should be passed to the Community Champion who will then submit the application to the Asda Foundation. The Foundation does not accept applications directly from organisations.
Groups may apply for grants of between £500 to £1,500.
The deadline for applications is 19th August 2022.
Funding for Local Groups to Help With Cost-of-Living Rise and Refugees
Phase 2 of the Empowering Local Communities Grant programme from the Asda Foundation is now available to support communities with a range of things, including the increase in the cost of living and supporting refugees.
Grants of between £500 and £1,500 will support projects under four themes:
Building resilient communities.
Active lives.
Seasonal celebrations and festivals.
Leading healthier lives.

Sky and BEO Announces £1m Partnership to Support Black Entrepreneurs
Through the Future 100 Growth Fund, Sky and civil rights organisation BEO are supporting Black entrepreneurs to launch and grow their own businesses.
Future 100 will offer funding of up to £15,000 for innovative new business ideas and successful existing companies.
It is open to applicants between 18 and 30 years old of Black African, Black Caribbean, Black British and/or Mixed-race descent who are UK residents.
Applicants from the digital marketing, creative, media and technology, sports technology, professional services, entertainment, logistics, education, health and lifestyle, FinTech and Internet of Things sectors, are particularly welcome.
Funding to Support British Veterans and Their Dependents Who Are in Need
The Veterans' Foundation aims to help charities and other not-for-profit organisations to support serving and former members of the British Armed Forces who may be facing challenging circumstances.
The Foundation offers standard grants of up to £30,000 and specific salary grants of up to £40,000 over two years.
The next deadline for applications is 26th August, 2022.
Artemis Charitable Foundation Accepting Applications
The Artemis Charitable Foundation is offering grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 for registered charities to support projects and activities in the following key areas:
Large Grants to Develop and Expand Transport-Related Research for Disabled People
National disability transport charity Motability is offering research grants to non-profit organisations. Grants of £50,000 to £1 million are on offer, and can be split over one, two or three years.
Examples of funded work could include:
An evaluation of current work to scale up provision or evidence need to upscale work nationally.
Research into the challenges and solutions for disabled people in rural communities.
Understanding experiences of disabled people when travelling by public transport.
Applications can be submitted at any time, with Stage One decisions expected within four weeks.
The Hamish Ogston Foundation is offering grants starting from £1.5 million for charities throughout the United Kingdom to deliver heritage, music, and sustainable health projects.
Funding will support projects and activities that focus on the following funding areas:
Heritage – Protecting the heritage of important sites across the UK and preserving structures, their craftsmanship, and their traditions.
Music – Promoting the UK's choral and organ traditions, including related initiatives and apprenticeships, to preserve their knowledge and culture.
Health – Working towards eliminating the disparities in both access to medical treatment and health awareness amongst the most disadvantaged sections of society.
There is a two-stage application process, wherein applicants must first submit an outline application before being invited to complete a full application.
Funding to Combat Loneliness Among Older People and Adults with Disabilities
Barchester Charitable Foundation is offering grants of between £5,000 for small community groups and local charities for projects that help reduce isolation and loneliness, promote group activities and generally improve mobility and quality of life for older people and adults with physical, learning, or mental disabilities.

Ernest Cook Trust Opens New Round of School Grants for the Outdoors
The Ernest Cook Trust is an educational charity that gives grants to not-for-profit organisations in the UK wishing to encourage an environmentally engaged society.
The current round of funding is for grants to be used for:
Wellies & Waterproofs - Research commissioned by The Ernest Cook Trust has identified that appropriate outdoor clothing and equipment is a key barrier for schools to access Outdoor Learning
Nature & Nurture projects to create areas where young people can connect with nature within school grounds or within the local community.
Applications are accepted from UK state funded Primary and Secondary schools and grants of £500 per school are available.
The application window is currently open, it will close when sufficient grant applications have been approved.
