"Consider it a great joy, my brother, whenever you experience various trials."
In the King James Version, it says.
"My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into diverse temptations."
"Count it all joy"? What a funny thing to say about going through trails. The word for 'count' or 'considers' is a Greek word meaning to think things through, to consider things mentally, to look at something from a different mindset. {Look back on our blog on Para dimes.}
The actual Greek term means "to decide about something after weighing all the facts and circumstances.
Remember we have a Divine resource, Divine help, and Divine truth, to help us as we think things through and work it out in our minds. Our Lord and Our Friend is always there to help. it is the wonderful thing about facing problems as a Christian, the Lord who created you and wants to walk with you is there to help.
Psalm 23 " The Lord is My shepherd" and in verse 4 "Even when I go through the darkest valley, I fear no danger, for You are with me"
If we think things through from the Lord's perceptive. our feelings respond. we know that God intends to use these things for our good and for His Glory, so we can count it all joy.
Let finish by using the Message Bible James 1 verses 2 to 4.
"Consider it a sheer gift, friends when tests and challenges come at you from all sides. you know that under pressure, your faith life is forced into the open and shows it's true colors. So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. let it do it's work so you become mature and well developed, not deficient in any way."
So consider it a great joy, Our Lord and Our friend will never let you down and he is with you all the way. He loves you to much to let you fail, so trust him even in your darkest moment.
