This is a recipe that my mum enjoys and this is the reason I wanted to try it. Me writing this blog at 22:11 hours with my infant sleeping next to me proves that it is a recipe worth sharing. So here it goes with the ingredients
100 gm Green Moong daal 100 gm yellow moong daal 1 red onion 5-8 florets of broccoli 1/2 red capsicum 1 tsp curry powder (haldi) 1 tsp red chilli 1 tsp garam masala 1/2 ginger garlic paste salt to taste pepper to taste
Add both types of daal to a bowl and wash them thoroughly till the water turns clean. Soak them in water for 2-3 hours (or warm water for 30 min). Add the daal with 30-40 ml of water and grind them well. The batter shouldn't be too liquidy. Chop your vegetables in small pieces and add them to your daal mix along with your spices. Mix well. Take a pan, put some oil in it, and add small portions of your batter. Let it cook on medium heat for 3-5 minutes. Turn it around, and cook it for 3-4 minutes. Serve with yogurt!
