Welcome to spring; a season associated with new life and growth. we are all familiar with the Dorothea Mackellar poem "My Country", Verses 2, 4 and 5 say:
I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains,
Of rugged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains,
I love her far horizons, I love her jewel-sea,
her beauty and her terror, the wide brown land for me!
Core of my heart, my country! Her pitiless blue sky,
When, sick at heart, around us we see the cattle die,
But then the grey clouds gather, and we can bless again
The drumming of an army, the steady soaking rain.
Core of my heart, my country! Land of the rainbow gold,
for flood and fire and famine, she pays us back threefold.
Over the thirsty paddocks, watch, after many days,
The filmy veil of greenness that thickens as we gaze.
The week, and this season, we need to pray for our farmers, and those severely affected by bad circumstances. Join me please;
'Oh God our Father, we ask today to send Your refreshing Spirit over our wonderful country today, and especially to those who desperately need it. We pray for farmers and their families, and any others who are suffering extreme hardship. We pray today for their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual needs as well. Dear Heavenly Father, we know nothing is too hard for You. We pray in Jesus Name. Amen.
God bless you this week as you count your blessings.
