I thought I would begin with the Kindle rewards program. It isn't something I find particularly rewarding. I cashed in the book credits I had and found the rewards were not substantial enough for me.
If you are in a public restroom make sure your coat has deep pockets or an inner pocket. I dropped my phone in the toilet. Yup, I wasn't touching it. I got home to order another phone. It is now 80 dollars. I am going to need be using my magic jack phone for a while.
Have you made your holiday gift list? I shop throughout the year. I am not a fan of commercial gift-wrapping paper. I sew gift bags and fold them closed with a snap. The bags can be reused in everyday life. I make fabric bows. Sometimes, I use grocery bags rubber-stamped with ink.
Greeting cards are something I like to send out. My granddaughter gets hand-crafted cards from us weekly in the mail. During the holidays, we make a digital newsletter with photos. We send it out in a mass mailing on Thanksgiving day. We send out 200 cards every year. That simple change saves us 120 dollars on postage alone. We started this practice 5 years ago. A few people thought it was a tacky practice. However, when they found out they were missing out on the funny ones, it became accepted.
Have you complied a household manual on things that need to be done for maintaining your home? It takes a few minutes.
Are you 15 minutes away from being company ready? A daily and weekly checklist will get you there. A streamlined home makes it easy to tidy up. My husband loves to invite people over at the last minute. A quick dusting, mopping, and oil diffuser on to greet others. I whip together quick crudites', stuffed pastry puffs, and a pitcher of Lavender mint lemonade. I know several couples who hire outside help because they cannot self-manage the home. They cannot afford it, honestly, it is not even necessary for them to hire help. If they were able to manage their daily mess, clutter, and maintain routines.
