This list will be focusing on my favorite anime characters with white hair. Instead of being a Top 5 list, though, I am sharing my choices in alphabetical order by first name.
Hatsuharu Sohma
Hatsuharu is one of the members of the Sohma clan in Fruits Basket that has been afflicted by the family's curse of turning into one of the animals in the Chinese zodiac. Hatsuharu turns into the ox. Haru's an interesting character, since he has two personalities. When he's his normal self, Haru is laid-back, kind, and calm. But when he turns into "Black Haru," he becomes violent, short-tempered, rude, and foul-mouthed. But, more often than not, Haru is portrayed in the series as his normal self, and as his regular self, he's close to Yuki Sohma. Haru really does care about the people who are close to him, which we see with both Yuki and Rin Sohma.
Inuyasha
He's the title character of the Inuyasha anime. Inuyasha is a prideful and stubborn half-demon from the feudal era of Japan, who, as the series progresses, shows he has a soft side to him as well. When Kagome Higurashi is transported to his era through the well at her family's shrine, the two are forced to work together to find the shards of the Shikon Jewel. Right at first, Inuyasha and Kagome don't really get along, and it doesn't help that Kagome is the reincarnation of Inuyasha's dead human lover, Kikyo. But as the two of them work together and spend time together, Inuyasha starts showing his softer side to Kagome. He occasionally shows this side to their travelling companions, but he shares it more with Kagome. Throughout the series, Inuyasha experiences a lot of character growth, and the viewer really comes to care about him.
Jiraiya
He's one of the three Legendary Sannin from the Hidden Leaf Village, and he becomes Naruto's teacher. Even though he's a powerful shinobi, he has a weakness... women. Jiraiya is usually light-hearted and makes jokes at his own expense, but can become serious on the battlefield. He also has an indomitable spirit and a drive to never give up. During the time he spends with Naruto during his training, the two develop a strong bond that goes beyond teacher and student. In a lot of ways, Jiraiya kind of becomes a grandfather figure for Naruto. Even with his faults, Jiraiya is a likeable character, and when he dies in Naruto Shippuden, the audience becomes just as gutted by his death as Naruto does.
Sesshomaru
Sesshomaru is the older half-brother of Inuyasha, and he is a powerful dog demon. Unlike his younger brother, who can be rash and angered easily, Sesshomaru always appears composed and calm at all times. He can also be rather aloof. At the beginning of the series, Sesshomaru felt nothing for anyone, but after saving a young girl named Rin, he slowly started to show feelings behind his words. To me, Sesshomaru remains an interesting character through the Inuyasha series, and I really liked his character development. Yes, he does remain a bit on the aloof side by the end of it, but the viewer can still tell how much he's changed.
Toshiro Hitsugaya
Toshiro is the captain of the 10th Division in the Gotei 13. He may be shorter than a lot of the other Soul Reapers and look more like a child, but he generally acts more on the mature and serious side. With this personality, it's not surprising that his Bankai has ice abilities. However, this doesn't mean that Toshiro is unlikable or unfriendly. Once I was introduced to Toshiro in the anime, I always liked seeing him when he appeared in the story. I'm also a fan of his abilities, and so it's always fun watching him in action when he's fighting against an enemy.
