My day started too early. My daughter and I are longer at the typical mother/daughter impasse about, well, everything. She finally caved and cleaned her room without raging. I didn't overpraise or overlook her efforts. I simply said now, you have a lovely space. My oldest daughter reminded me of what a pill she was at 14 years. Honestly, her teenage angst didn't get under my skin as much because at the time I was working with troubled teenagers who were violent, so sass was a relief. This time around, I do not have the tolerance for sass.
My day started with drama very early. I decided to get into the gym. None of my logins for my streaming were working. I had been hacked. My Netflix was hacked by Andy's iPhone, in fact, Andy is located in Idaho. I change all my passwords. My husband is anti-technology. I have dark fantasies of knocking on Andy's door and saying SHOWTIME, we are watching Hoarders. My treadmill decided to die again. I am going to have the manufacturer pick it up again for repair. The last motor lasted 3 months.
Our rental unit continues to give us grief. The issue is with the septic. I think we have too many people for the system We had agreed to 6, but I am getting reports that there may be 10-12 people in the unit. As the property manager, I will not be renewing their lease. I informed them of this. They have 8 months left. They are trying to convince me that it will all be okay. I had doubts about the number of people when we rented. We had the septic pumped 10 days before they moved in. So, we shouldn't be having issues. The gentleman that lives in the apartment over the shop reports there are more people than we think. So, on the first of the year, I will be making a property manager visit.
I finished my holiday decorating. Wednesday, we will go get the tree. My neighbor stopped by to tell me she is not bringing me any fudge this year because I snubbed her by not bringing my daughter over when she was visiting. Wow..... My daughter didn't feel comfortable about visiting her because she is pregnant, and all the stuff going around. My neighbors are not vaccinated and do not mask. I was willing to put my daughter and our granddaughter at risk. My husband always my cheerleader says well, your fudge is better anyway and our grandchild is cuter.
Today, I have been having difficulty finding my sweet spot. Football is raging. My book needs to be edited and put in epub form. The house is shining clean, I am content, but I am restless. I am printing out my novel now, I am going to go through it with a red pen.
