Romans 7 verse 24:
"What a wretched man I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death".
That was a confession of The apostle Paul and I am sure we all can identify with. There are time in life when we all feel so hopeless, who cares, who knows and who will take the time to help.
Lets us look at this verse from a different translation and the message of hope that follows in the next verse: Message Bible:
"I've tried everything and nothing helps, I'm at the end of my rope. Is there no one who can do anything for me? Isn't that a real question."
Paul had that confession but he also knew the answer Romans 7 verse 25: Message Bible:
"the answer, thank God, is that Jesus Christ can and does, He acted to set things right in this life of contradictions where I want to serve God with all my heart and mind, but am pulled by influence of sin to do something totally different."
Our Lord and Our Friend is always there to help, no matter how hopeless the situation might seem.
Paul was admitting his faults and his struggles, the great apostle Paul had fault and and struggles, we should not feel ashamed if we do to.
Paul was being honest, and that is the first place we should take ourselves when we come to Christ Jesus.Lay it all on the line before Him, after all He knows all about us, he knows our background, he knows our struggles, but {and this is one of these good buts] He knows the plans and the purposes He has for our lives.
Paul in his honesty before God found the answer, and the answer is the same one that can be found by any of us: "Thank God, is that Jesus Christ {Our Lord and Our Friend} can and does.
We are never going to be exempt from troubles in life, but we have a Friend that will never leave or forsake us through them. Ask for His help today if you need to, we will never be disappointed because He will always give us, the assurance of His love.
God Bless.
