You may recall a couple of weeks ago I shared some thoughts on Jesus' invitation in Matthew 7:13&14 "Enter through the marrow gate, For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it."
As I thought about journeying the narrow road, I was conscious that it's so easy to stray from the path, Things in life can come and take us away from Him. The Lord helps us stay on track by telling us in Psalm 119:105 that His word is a lamp to our feet, and a light to our path.
He also knows when the going gets tough, we're struggling and getting tired, we too can share the same experience that David did in Psalm 23 "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His Name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death (or something that feels like that), I will fear no evil, for You are with me, Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord forever".
In John 10:14 Jesus says "I am the good shepherd. I know My sheep and my sheep know Me, just as the Father knows Me and I know the Father; and I lay down my life for the sheep." If one of His sheep wanders off and gets lost, He will go and find the lost one and bring him back to the fold. So we can rest in the knowledge that He will come and find us, and help us get back on track.
May God grant you His grace and His peace throughout this week, and that you experience His presence in every situation. God bless you.
