Hello again!
Our bus stopped at a Pollo Feliz restaurant in this north of Navajoa. After taking some quick video, I went into the restaurant to order 1/4 of a broasted chicken.
As I was waiting for my order, a 19-year-old server named Cristian asked me a lot of questions. I was happy to answer them and also asked some of my own. I was trying to think back to the last time someone from one of the younger generations did something like this. The food arrived before the answer did so I left the restaurant. As the bus was still closed and locked, I stood waiting by a column.
A couple noticed me and invited me to join them at their table. They were from a little pueblito nearby. But, they were waiting for a bus to take them to Caborca, Sonora to visit relatives. Their kids were staying with her mother. The two worked on a local ranch. He was a vaquerro and she was a cook. While I enjoyed my time with them, it was time to get back on the bus.
However, as I was sitting with them, I finally remembered why this area looked so familiar. The last time we were here, in 2019, I opted to walk 1/4 of a mile to buy some hotdogs and chips at OXXO. Unfortunately, I was gone so long that I had to run the last couple of hundred yards to catch the bus as it was pulling away!
Until next time!
Tony
