Born in a manger, He came to change the world, by changing the hearts of all those Who would be led by Him.
John 3 Verse 17:
V17: "For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through Him".
We have been again blessed coming through the Christmas period. The Christmas message was the coming of Christ Jesus in the flesh, as one of us, to pay the price that was required, for all our sins {wrong doings against Our Creator God}.
But Christ Jesus did not come to found a religion. He came to change the world. he did not call His followers, to live as down and outs. He called people to follow Him. In following Him, we must have A Cross experience of dying to self and living for the eternal, which is new life in Him.
He called people to follow Him and in doing so, become a part of His plans that will change the world.. Christ Jesus did not come to create a safe and enclosed community of believers, He came to turn an upside-down world, the right way up. All who claim to follow Him are called to strive for that same end.
Christ Jesus called us to be risk takers. He wants us to step out into His calling for us, and to see the bigger picture through His eyes. He calls us to a freedom that this world cannot understand, through this freedom we learn to live as God intended us to live.
Instead of trying to live in an upside-down world, our following of Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend should cause many of the upside-down worldly things to be changed, into the way He created them to be. We are called for such a time as this, to live like we have an eternal destiny of purpose, and not just to settle for the emptiness of this world, that has no idea of Who Christ Jesus really is.
Let us start this new year reflecting how we can follow, Our Lord and Our Friend, with greater purpose. Reflection will bring renewal, in the awesomeness of just how much God love us, that He would send His Son, to pay the price for wrong doings against Him.
God Bless
OFJ
