I finally hunted down and dragged out my churn dashes...
I though about it, and I think I packed them away early October before I went on my trip to Europe with Mum.
Having not touched them since then, it took a bit of figuring out where I was up to... even with my nicely organized trackers and notes...
I started with the Barn Dance churn dash blocks...
And worked out that although I seem to have ticked both of the pics on that page, I am short of blocks - so either I didn't count right, or I there are some stray blocks hiding in the studio. I will have to hunt a bit before I work out which scenario is correct...
I found lots of partial pieces of blocks though...
Enough to set a few bits out in the shape of a churn dash.... and then I noticed a problem - can you see what it is in the pic below???
Yeah, the background fabric isn't the same!!!! Who knows what I was thinking... or doing... now I know I could just sew it together and no one would notice because it is a big quilt - but it would annoy me... so that little block didn't get put together.
Then I pulled out Chooky's Churn Dash quilt challenge blocks... and got my head around where I was at with that one.
Once again I found a few oopsies... some of the half square triangle blocks were 2" square instead of 2 1/2" square... I put them in my scrap basket...
In the end, however, I did start sewing and managed to make three blocks for each quilt.....
And I think I now know where I stand with what I still need to make... so I am happy to have made some progress!!
I will probably be the last one to the finish line in Chooky's challenge, but oh well... I am at least back on track!
How has your progress been in the sewing room so far this week?
