If this is your day for rest, like us all you still need encouragement. Be encouraged today by this wonderful verse from John 17 Verse 20:
John 17 verse 20: " I {Jesus} pray not only for these, but also for those who believe in Me through their message".
Our Lord and Our Friend, first prayed for His disciples, in John 17 verses 6 to 19, then He prayed for All believers, John 20 verses 20 to 26.
We might not all be called to direct ministry, but we are all called to minister, minister out of Who The Christ is to us. Matthew 16 verses 13 to 20, is what is referred to as Peter confession. Peter's confession was that Jesus was 'The Christ, The Son of The Living God'. All who hold to that and confess it are Jesus' followers. it is that confession we build our faith on, and all the power of Satan cannot come against it.
Satan knows that, and that is why that is one of the most misunderstood confessions of faith. Satan challenges through 'The Word', in Genesis 3, Satan the serpent, challenges, Eve with what God said.
So what Jesus prays for all believers here in John 17, should be in our hearts and our minds, so when Satan comes to challenge us, he will see a hedge of protection, he saw around Job, in Job 1 verse 9. 1 Peter 5 verse 8: warns us about Satan prowling around to see who he can cause havoc to.
But Satan is a limited foe, He can't come past the Blood, that Christ Jesus shed on the Cross, for all who believe in Him, as The Christ, The Son of The Living God. Romans 8 verse 1 and 2;
"Therefore, no condemnation now exists for those in Christ Jesus, because the Spirit's law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death".
Jesus prays, for all believers, that come to understand He is The Christ. 17 verse 2:
"May they all be one, as You, Father, are in Me and I in You. May they also be one in Us, so the world may believe you sent Me".
We were created for fellowship with a Loving God, sin through temptation and not knowing "The Word' destroyed that. Christ Jesus came, so we could again, walk in fellowship with, our Loving Creator God.
Know The Word, understand what Christ Jesus, The Son of The living God prayed for us, and has achieved on the cross for us, nothing can separate us from that love, Romans 8 verse 35, if we Know and Understand His Word.
