My fever finally broke. My husband and kids are still sick. I did an online order for Walmart. I stayed up until 3:30 this morning. We had a windy night. The wind in Colorado is very gnarly at times. I wrote for a few hours, and my new novel is coming together. I am not used to being tired. I have had to take many breaks as I worked to get things done.
Eggs continue to be 8 dollars a dozen. Our neighbor called to ask if I would give her a few dozen eggs. I said no. There are associations,( I wouldn't call it a friendship) you need to let go of, and she is one of them. There have been too many snarky comments, judgments, and demands. I have learned in living a frugal life that pacing my reactions to issues, family, etc is a frugal choice in creating balance. I need my energy
We gathered 60 eggs this week. Lots of egg meals this week for the family. I add an egg or two to my salads.
We do not have a single loaf of bread in the house today. I refuse to pay close to 8 dollars a loaf for Dave's bread. So, I whipped up a big batch of bread dough for sandwich bread and dinner bread. I have the English muffins rising in their rings.
The Walmart app is effective in watching your budget as you have a running total. I ordered a ton of produce. Total for this haul 125.00. It is odd that my family is so hungry running a fever. I will do my no-contact pick-up at 3.
Shop the clearance aisle for meat and dairy. Plan your meals around these. Broccoli cheese soup, broccoli, cheese, custard, and corn chowder. Many people think I am plant-based(I do dairy and eggs) because of my beliefs. Nope, I had a botched gallbladder surgery. Most animal protein upsets my stomach. So, when I make these things for my family, the meals are for my needs.
Did you know you can order 4 free Covid -19 tests per address from the USPS.gov website? They are offering an additional set of tests.
Deal of the month: audiobooks.com is offering 2 free books with new trial memberships. The cost per month is 14.95. I found the app works better than Audible. I have already canceled the trial. So, I have two free audiobooks I have been wanting
Colorado is including a parks pass in with auto registration. This can be tremendous savings if you visit these parks often. My husband has a lifetime pass for the National Parks, we use this often.
