Roundup of recent DWP announcements
Help to claim (Universal Credit)
This week, it was announced that Citizens Advice and Citizens Advice Scotland will continue to deliver Help to Claim support which provides free and impartial advice to people to make their Universal Credit Claim online. This investment of more than £22million means that the provision will be extended to 31 March 2024.
Help to Claim provides free confidential support to help people make a new Universal Credit claim.
Since April 2019, Help to Claim has supported over 800,000 people, with nine in 10 people rating their overall experience as good or very good and saying they would recommend it to friends and family.
People will be able to access the support and advice online or by phone. For those who are unable to access support via these channels, people will be able to contact their local jobcentre, where staff will help to identify the right support to meet their needs.
