Created in His Likeness, it is best to go back to God's first words on the subject: Genesis 1 verse 26: "Let Us make man in Our Image, according to Our likeness".
Despite what has happened since, we are all created in the Image of God. We were all created equal, God does not have favorites, but He can be proud of a person that is genuinely following after Him. Job 1 verse 8: "Have you considered My servant Job? No one else on earth is like him, a man of perfect integrity, who fears God and turns from evil".
Matthew 5 verse 48: {Message Bible} "Live out your God-created identity. Live generously and graciously towards others, the way God lives towards you".
We are created in the Image of God, Live out your God-created identity. We were all created differently, but most people are trying to be like someone else. live for someone else or live like everybody else. But Our Lord and Our Friend created you to be different, Created you to be you. Created you with purpose and destiny, that only you can achieve.
Romans 12 verse 6 {Message Bible}: "Lets just go ahead and be what we were made to be, without enviously or pridefully comparing ourselves with each other, or trying to be something we aren't".
2 Corinthians 10 verse 18: {Message Bible} "What you say about yourself means nothing in God's work. It's what God says about you that makes the difference".
Let's start seeing ourselves as Our Lord and Our Friend sees us, and if we live that way, the world will see Him too.
Galatians 2 verse 20: {Message Bible} "I have been crucified with Christ. My ego is no longer central. It is no longer important that I appear righteous before you or have a good opinion, and I am no longer driven to impress God. Christ lives in me. The life you see me living is not 'mine', but it is lived by faith in The Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me".
Our self-image must line up with what Our Lord and Friend says about us, {and He loves us and gave Himself for us individually} and not be trying to conform with the world around us, that would put us in pigeon holes of secular thinking.
God Bless.
