Chaplain's Chat
I pray you have a blessed Easter, and that you and your families are well.
What does it take for you to believe in something? Is it your experience, scientific proof, success, achievements, a cause? Maybe it's something that has stood the test of time, or maybe it's in the seeing? Some may believe because of someone's bravery or sacrifice.
John 20 verses 27 and 29; Then Jesus said to Thomas, 'Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.' Jesus then said 'You have believed because you have seen me, blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.
John 3 verse 16 'For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life'.
Jesus believed that we were worth dying for, even for those who do not believe in Him. He could have saved Himself but He chose not to. While He was on the cross, we were on His mind.
You know - the only thing in Heaven that is made by man are the scars in the hands of Jesus.
Dear Heavenly Father, thank you for your unconditional love, your provision, your mercy and grace for us. Help us to live lives that are worthy of your sacrifice. Bless us and our families this week. In Jesus Name I pray. Amen.
