Christianity is not a religion, though the world has tried to cast it as such. One thing that distinguishes Christianity from the many world religions is that. it is a way of life, where The Creator died as one of His Creation, to give us new life.
2 Corinthians 5 verse 17: "Therefore if any person is in Christ, there is a new creation, old things have passed away, and look, new things have come."
And from the Amplified Bible; "Therefor if any person is {in grafted] in Christ, the Messiah, he {They are} is {a new creature altogether,} a new creation; the old {previous moral and spiritual condition} has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come."
For there to be new life, there must be a dying to the old self. We must know that to become a new creation in Christ, our old nature, our previous carnal way of living and spiritual condition must be place on the cross, and surrendered on it, so as to be identified with the victory that was won for us on it.
we will not experience true newness of life, if our old self keeps on popping up. We must be in Christ, that is, we must abide in Christ, be in union with Christ. Romans 8 verse 1: Amplified Bible:
"Therefor {there is} now no condemnation— no adjudging guilty of wrong—for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit."
To be united with Christ Jesus is to nail our old self to the cross, so that sin has no power and dominion over us. We are not talking here of physically nailing ourselves, it is symbolic, seeing ourselves identified with Christ Jesus on the cross. So we can also rise to newness of life, in identifying in His resurrection.
All things become New. Salvation is the free Gift of God's Grace, through acceptance and repentance {truly saying sorry for our wrong-doing against God}, leads to Justification.
Justification {in simple terms} Just as if we had not done it. Hebrews 8 verse 12:
"For I will be merciful to their wrongdoing, and I will never again remember their sins."
All things about us becomes New. A clean slate, not to again write the wrong-doings back on, but a clean slate to bring Glory to God.
All things become new, new purpose, new hope, new destiny.
God Bless,
O F J.
