Let me hear your voice
Song of Solomon chapter 2 verse 14 "oh my dove, in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the cliff, let me see your face, let me hear your voice, for your voice is sweet, and your face is lovely."
In verses 10 to 15, we hear - "arise my dearest – come along with me"; "the season has changed, the bondage of your barren winter is ended"; "can you not discern this new day of destiny breaking forth around you? the early signs of my purposes and plans are bursting forth" "there is change in the air"; "how beautiful your eyes of worship and lovely your voice in prayer".
I've been thinking this week on this portion of scripture "let me hear your voice for your voice is sweet (delicious)". How amazing it is to me that our Lord and Friend, the Creator of the universe, God Almighty, would love to hear our voice – He is calling to each individual to come and commune with Him. Awesome!
We know that in the beginning, "the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters, then God said" - and the heavens and the earth were created. The Kingdom of God is voice activated. "….in the presence of Him who he believed – God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did"(speaking of Abraham) . Romans 4:17 " I create the fruit of the lips: peace, peace to him who is far off and to him who is near, says the LORD, and I will heal him" Isaiah 57:19.
Do you have someone whose voice you love to hear? I know I do.
These verses of scripture tell us that our Lord loves to hear our voices; - In worship, in prayer, in joy and sorrow, in our questioning and in our seeking – He enjoys , even longs to hear from us.
"May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with your all" 2 Corinthians 13:14
