- A recent report by Onward has found that many of us feel "too busy" or "too knackered'" to participate in leisure activities, with 40% of parents feeling that work prevents them from engaging with their community and 45% feel that it stops them from doing hobbies.
- Analysis by the Joseph Rowntree Foundation and Trussell Trust shows weekly Universal Credit standard allowance is £35 less than the cost of common essential items for a single person meaning that hundreds of thousands of people are forced to use food banks because they can't make ends meet
- Data from the Office for National Statistics for April 2023 shows that unemployment in South Yorkshire rose to 4.1% and economic inactivity rose to 23%, while inflation continues to remains high as food prices climb by nearly 20% year on year.
