Gratitude is great, isn't it? Taking the time to be thankful.
But I've found it's really impactful to take the thankfulness a step further by figuring out who is responsible for those bright, shiny spots and saying thank you to them.
My mother-in-law watched our kids all spring break, making it possible for us to actually have a break. Bag of goodies and a card for her!
There was an extra bonus for the housekeeper who found my husband's wedding ring on the floor at our house.
Today I was reflecting on how far my son has come in his journey since being diagnosed with ADHD. The psychologist we started seeing remotely during the heart of the pandemic really turned things around for him, and in turn for all of us. I took the time to pour out my gratitude to him in an email, even though my son no longer has a need to see him. The fact that there's no need makes the thankfulness all the more important.
I would be so tickled if today you can find a way to say thank you to someone who has made your life or even just your day a little better. The thanks you give them will undoubtedly be a bright and shiny spot.
