Chaplain's Chat
Galatians 5 verses 22 and 23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law".
What enables us to explore the fruit of the Spirit, and to demonstrate those fruits, and His virtues every day?
It starts with God loving us - experiencing that love, and dwelling in Him. Patience is just one of the fruits. We should exercise patience as we wait on the Lord, and patience with others. Thessalonians 1 verse 3 speaks of our hope filled patience in our Lord Jesus Christ. Then in chapter 5 verse 14, we are urged to be quick to demonstrate patience with everyone. Patience is not loud, rather humble and quiet. It still comes back to us though; we can do this by pressing in closer to Him and experiencing His unconditional love, even with all our faults and failings; then allowing that to overflow to others.
Colossians 3 gives us instruction on how to love each other, and that we are always dearly loved by God. He created us to have fellowship with Him.
Be merciful as you endeavor to understand others; be compassionate in showing kindness towards all; be gentle and humble in your patience with everyone.
Thank you Lord for loving us as You do. Please watch over us this week, and keep our families safe, in Jesus Name. Amen.
