As I wrote a few weeks ago, I wrote I was hacked due to our children's Discord activity. I have Instagram and Facebook to stay in touch with my adult daughter and my past coworkers. I work up on the 19th to find that my Facebook account was hacked and I was a Catfish. Apparently, I have been having quite a life in Meta. A few weeks ago, I received a few weird phone calls, I still have my Maine area code Magic Jack phone number. I didn't think anything about it. I figured it was a wrong number.
I contacted Facebook. My account had been reported for having multiple accounts. So, I started calling what I assumed had been the wrong numbers. I found that someone had been posing as me in several relationships. I needed to secure my Facebook. It was accessed from an email I hadn't used in years. Well, over a decade in fact. I sent in my identification and my real account was unlocked. There were 5 accounts under my name she had made with my photos.
I found out who it was. It was my "friend" that I stopped talking to months ago. However, she had been using my account for almost the entire time I had been out West. Okay..... Not okay. In fact, she had been talking to one of my ex-boyfriends and two other men I didn't know.
On my end, I called the ex-boyfriend, and I asked when he figured out it wasn't me. He said when she asked him for money. My husband and I had a Facetime call with him last night. My husband was pissed because he NEVER liked her from day 1. I called the other two people to make sure they knew it wasn't me.
I called the police department in my hometown and filed a police report. I sent them all the profile shots and messages that were sent to me.
The next thing I did was check my credit report to make sure she had done anything to affect my credit. I didn't find anything.
