Humility is often called bridal strength. Our Lord and Our Friend, not only bridal His strength but showed us the tremendous love He had for us by hanging on The Cross.
Matthew 27 verse 46: Jesus cries to His Father from the Cross. "
The Love that Our Lord and Our Friend embraces us with, can be seen here, He was forsaken by His Father, yet still pursued The Work His Father gave Him to do.
He was mocked, torment, tortured and hung on a cross, by mere men, under the authority of mere men, at His Father's allowance, and He obediently just hung there.
Christ Jesus pursued the work He came to do. Even though He could of, He did not leave the cross, He does not unloose the nails to make it easier on Himself. He did not try to leap down and chase His mockers away. But He held Himself in there bleeding and suffering, until he shouted the Words, 'It is finished'.
He came to be obedient to His Father, He could have gone back to the Father and said can we try this some other way. But our Salvation was at stake, He died for our sin [wrong-doings things that separate us from a righteous God},
The ultimate act of loneliness, was when the sin of the world were placed on Him, His Father turned His back to the sin, and thus turned His back to His Son.
On the cross it often takes hours to die, that is why they break the legs of people on the cross, to help them die. But none of Our Lord's bone were broken, because when he had fore-filled what He came to do, He said, 'It is finished'.
Jesus was in control of His life, and the time His life would end, and He knew the time of His resurrection, because it was planned. Planned out of Love. John 3 verses 16 to 18:
V16: "For God loved the world in this way, He gave His One and Only Son, so that everyone {any whosoever} who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life".
V 17: "For God did not send His Son into the world that He might condemn the world, but that the world [You and I} might be save through Him".
V18: "Anyone who believes in Him is not condemned, but anyone who does not believe is already condemned, because he {or she} has not believed in The Name of The One and Only Son of God".
And achieved out of obedience and humility, Romans 5 verse 6:
"Christ died for the ungodly".
Humility of that magnitude, deserve our gratitude, should not our gratitude compel us to go on working for God? The Great loved displayed has saved us and 'any whosoever' from hell, eternity without Him.
Offer Him the Praise that is worthy to Him, and let that praise always be on our lips. The punishment Our Lord Our Redeemer and Our Friend, put Himself through, to rescue us, and restore us to a place we were created to live in, Fellowship with Our Creator God.
Bridal strength, truly displayed, it was His Love that kept Him on that cross, His love for 'any whosoever'.
God Bless.
