Righteousness peace and joy in the Holy Spirit
Romans 14:17 "the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit". NKJV
True satisfaction does not come from the outside – from all the things we can do or purchase – but it comes from within. God wants us to live with His righteousness, peace, and joy. This verse tells us the kingdom of God is in the Holy Spirit. As one preacher said – righteousness deals with sin issue; peace deals with our soul's issues; and joy deals with our physical issues.
Righteousness. Romans 6:23 "by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God".
Romans 4 verse 6 "just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works".
1 Corinthians 1 verse 30 "but of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God – and righteousness and sanctification and redemption".
It's not our righteousness, but the righteousness of Christ, that is imputed to the believer's account. Our lives are hidden in Christ when we confess Him as our Lord and Savior.
Peace. Philippians 4 verses 6 and 7 "be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."
Isaiah 26 verse 4 "You will keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You." As we bring our requests before our Lord and Friend, and keep our minds fixed on Him and His faithfulness, peace that passes understanding will guard our hearts and minds.
Joy. Nehemiah 8 verse 10 "The joy of the Lord is your strength".
Proverbs 17 verse 22 TPT "A joyful, cheerful heart brings healing to both body and soul, but the one whose heart is crushed struggles with sickness and depression".
Remember; if you are feeling crushed in heart, our Lord and Friend does not leave you alone. He came to heal the broken hearted and bind up our wounds.
Psalm 147 verse 3. Luke 4:18 to 19 Jesus said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed, to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."
Holy Spirit has come as our Helper, Comforter, Teacher, and Guide. He is the Spirit of Truth and leads us in triumph in the Kingdom of our God. Rich Blessings.
