This is the day – we will rejoice.
Psalm 118:24 "This is the day that the Lord has brought about; we will rejoice and be glad in it".
Sometimes, do you find that, even though you love what you do; love your life; you are not really enjoying your days? Hmmmm
One of the secrets to enjoying our days, finding true happiness, is keeping a positive mental attitude. What does it mean to have a positive attitude? An image of a bubbly, fun-loving, outgoing individual may spring to mind; however this is not necessarily the case. While some people are naturally more optimistic than others, a positive attitude can be developed if we choose to do so.
Romans 12 verse 2 tells us to 'not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of our minds'. If this were not possible, then God would not have put it in His Word. Our mind is such a powerful part of our soul and we choose what we meditate on as we go about our day. Jesus said "My words are spirit and they are life".
"The word of God is living and powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and it is a discerner the thoughts and the intents of the heart" Hebrews 4:12
So how do we maintain a positive mental attitude? Through meditating on God's Word. Believing what He says is true. His promises are 'yes and amen'. He is faithful and well able to do what He said He would.
Psalm 16 verse 11 "…In His Presence is fullness of joy; at His right hand are pleasures forevermore." Ephesians 2 verse 6. Where are we seated? In Christ – at the right hand of God our Father – where there are pleasures forevermore.
Our Lord and Friend has come to give us life in abundance. The Amplified Bible says in John 10:10b "I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance, (to the full, till it overflows".
I want to choose to set my mind this amazing Scripture; to remember that our dear Lord and Savior came to rescue us so that we can enjoy our life, even through the challenges; and to live with Him eternally.
May peace and joy be multiplied to you.
