Signed Sealed Delivered
I woke this morning with the words of an old song in my heart, "signed, sealed, delivered,
I'm yours". So I thought that I'd follow up with this week's 'from the heart', by looking into
this thought. The verse below says it exactly.
Ephesians 1 verses 3 and 14 "It's in Christ that you once heard the truth and believed it (the
Message of your salvation), found yourselves home free – signed, sealed and delivered by
the Holy Spirit. This signet from God is the first installment on what's coming, a reminder
that we'll get everything God has planned for us, a praising and glorious life." Message
version.
These should be our words, recognizing the work of the Holy Spirit, Who signs, seals and
delivers us into God's Presence. God's Spirit lives inside us when we are 'in Christ'. Every
aspect of our spiritual journey is connected to the work of the Holy Spirit, and our end result
is assured by that same Holy Spirit.
Indelibly engraved into your identity are the names of the Father and of the Lamb, our Lord
and Friend, Jesus Christ, Who was slain and is now alive forevermore. Father God says "you
are mine, no other can claim you." "you are mine, nothing can destroy you". That's God's
gift to us "signed in blood-red ink, sealed into our very being, we are delivered by God. Jesus
Christ won the victory and as we are in Him, so too we are victorious.
Ephesians 1:13-14 NKJV "In Him (Christ) you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth,
the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy
Spirit of promise, who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the
purchased possession, to the praise of His glory".
So then we can have assurance; since we are sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is
the guarantee of our inheritance! John 18:9b, (Jesus speaking) "of those whom You gave Me
I have lost none".
Grace and Blessings. Kath
