The Property Manager of the apartment house where this poet lives is retiring and this poet was given less than eight hours to come up with something for the facility's newsletter---deadline today! This therefore is his second attempt.
-
Irena's retirement,
A sad but glad event...
When she goes
She'll thumb her nose
At some of us present!
-
As she walks out the door,
Will we see her no more...?
We wish her well---
Her leaving is swell
But hope she doesn't get bored!
-
Irena's retirement
For some may be heaven-sent....
But for most
She was a good host,
as long as we were on time with the rent!
-
Irena, we'll see you around,
On new freedoms you may expound...
Visit sometime
Just to keep us in line-?
Whenever you're in town?
-
Best regards----Jonathan Caswell
