Life is hard at times, and we can get all twisted up with emotions. Our mind races from thought to thought and soon we are just spinning around in a circle. We lose sight of God.
It is at this time the Devil sees an opening and puts doubts in our head. Satan laughs, we even begin to think God has turned away or is punishing us.
The longer we remain in this way of thinking the more we allow Satan to play with our minds. The sooner we embrace God's word the sooner the Devil will flee.
We don't have to be perfect Christians to seek God or have Him rescue us.
{But God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8 (ESV)}
Christ wants to have a personal relationship with us. He wants us to come to Him with our cares and concerns. God doesn't want us to just drift through life aimlessly being controlled by our fears and emotions.
God wants the best for us. He wants us to know His peace and comfort. He wants us to grow in His grace.
{But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ - 2 Peter 3:18 (NIV)}
It is normal to sometimes be attacked by our emotions, the Devil will use all kinds of different ways to snare us.
But we do not need to continue to dwell there.
We need to seek scripture and pray for guidance. Many times God has answered me while I was praying or reading scripture.
{I sought the Lord, and He answered me; He delivered me from all my fears. - Psalm 34:4 (NIV)}
I give God the praise for pulling me out of some very dark places. For I know that I could never have done it on my own. The evil one had a hold on me with both hand trying to drag me down.
{I will Praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me. - Psalm 16:7}
It is by the power of God through His Holy Spirit that I can say:
{Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort… For just as we share abundantly in the suffering of Christ, so also our comfort abounds through Christ - 2 Corinthians 1:3 & 5 (NIV)}
