In Old Normal, the writing was still good, the music sector saw an explosion of creativity over sixty years, there was far better humour on the TV....and plenty of people ready to laugh in tune to it without being riddled with guilt or told off for "giving offence". A world full of self-pitying pro-am "offendees" has not just removed all the fun in life, it's also sacrificed our liberties on the altar of aggressive narcissism by taking the shilling of the billionaires, bankers, pharma hucksters and climate emergencyism from Schwab and Soros to lazy politicians jumping on the bandwagon of Correctness.
In this brief post, The Slog looks at a witty comic relief all but gone with the wind, and nails spurious demands for "justice" as nothing more than attempts at power with privilege....bankrolled by the bloody hands of the very globalists who will, when comes the day, crush them mercilessly.
Here from 1969 is Dick Cavett interviewing Gr oucho Marx. You can see the then super-cool Cavett laughing his head off, you can witness the perfect timing of an all-time Comic Great, and in the background you can hear full-grown adults laughing out loud spontaneously without worrying about how others might judge (or misrepresent) their laughter. Nobody died during the recording of this show, and people still talk about it today. However well-meaning the pinched goblins of 2023 might be, they and their opportunistic sympathisers have removed this level of unbridled enjoyment from contemporary life.

If I have to explain why this cartoon is both funny and searingly accurate, chances are you're at the wrong blogsite. But I can fully recommend this humble and understated alternative as being more likely to float your boat.
Where I live these days, there are those who blame everything in their lives for the mess they're in, except themselves; and there are others determined to fight genuine cultural unjustice with determined practicality rather than indiscriminate blamestorming.
Nobody in this world simply gets respect: we all have to earn it. Offended people are, far too often, after a free ride to privilege. A naked and insensitive desire for privilege is by far the biggest threat the human species faces....from the very top wallies to the worst ocean-bed bottom-feeders.
Most people used to "get" that as a principle. Today, people forget their principles in the pursuit of being principals - and they are encouraged to do this by those with a thinly disguised agenda - viz, Soros, Schwab, Dimon, Starmer, Biden, Harris, Powell, Bailey, Pence, Von der Leyen, Macron, Johnson, Blair, Robber Bankers, Greens, depopulators, Davosite stakeholder celeb-collectors and other minor-league bile-spitters like the EU's Verhofstadt, Mogherini and Barnier.
How many more times must one say this:
Put simply, the One per Centers' idea is to make every major national sovereignty so chaotic, divided and internally violent, all the unelected Top Table Globalist megalomaniacs of their ilk will be able to rationalise their plan for World Government completely.
The ludicrously pretentious nature of the WHO's blatant power-grab attempt during last week gives the lie to a now completely worn-out élite bollocks obsession with "wild conspiracy theories": if they're so wild and crazy my friends, then why do they keep coming true?
So: there's been a collapse in public life integrity. Why is anyone surprised, therefore, that depraved ideologues (where there used to be role models) have led to almost everyone born below a career in public life since 1970 seeing this appalling behaviour as the norm?
Remember - the data are conclusive: just as paedophile fathers breed paedophile sons, incest in rural families quickly normalises such behaviour, so too feckless political corruption encourages self-enrichment among their electorates....who rapidly reach the conclusion that material wellbeing is the only criterion of personal success. Africa as a continent has produced endlessly tedious examples of how ruthless leadership enrichment trickles down as an everyday sociopathy that produces male beach bumster extortion and general sex tourism here in The Gambia.
[As I write, our neighbour Senegal is in chaos because a corrupt élite fears the power of a young Opposition leader, now imprisoned on spurious charges obviously designed to stop his democratic bid for office. How is this any different to what the US élite is doing to Trump? That's a question to which every American should relate with a sense of humility and analysis.]
The obvious crucial need here - in the light of all the learned malign behaviours and citizen/government mutual mistrust described above - is for the People to feel much closer (via practical actions rather then empty promises) to their leaders. The last thing freedom needs is an even more distant World Government....which might as well be run by conquering space aliens for all the difference it will make to the human individual's desire to achieve personal ambitions that benefit society as a whole.
So here endeth the lesson for today:
- Take ALL the influencing monies out of politics
- Reserve ALL political power for elected legislature(s)
- Put bureaucrats back in their cages as Civil Servants
- Reform the Electoral Voting and Candidate Choice processes.
- Remove ALL Royal prerogatives and other powers
Of course this is a massive ask, and of course the Turkeys won't vote for Christmas. Wake up People - this is not a tickling contest.
Why?
Because new military developments in Ukraine yesterday severely weakened Zelenskyyyy's position - but went totally unreported everywhere in the Anglosphere and EUNATO. You are living under régimes that routinely cut your access to important opinion-forming events....and, when finally reported, offer only a pathetically biased analysis.
Because major cracks are appearing in the UK Conservative Party - and this can only make Britain's position weaker still if the story is neglected. It's clear that the Tory hierarchy wants the whole thing swept under the nearest family heirloom carpet...but there are rumblings, and they can't be ignored.
It's possible we might be on the verge of a UK constitutional sea-change. The resignation of BoJo has resulted in three further Tory resigners in a manner that looks scripted to me. There are also three further not entirely coincidental bits to it:
a. Broad hints from Farage about rejoining the battle over the last 3 weeks
b. Bridgen has defected to Reclaim, and Our Nigel has smelt (correctly I think) that this is where the most potential lies.
c. Tory MP Bob Stewart has been arrested on Race Relations charges that simply don't bear examination by any balanced human being.
As always, Bojo is the opportunist here (I still think he's batting for the globalist banker Eleven) but on the other hand for Red Wall and Brexit reasons, many Tories stand to lose their seats unless something drastic is done. Now BoJo realises he's being thrown to the wolves, a New or relaunched Party Deal could be on.
