David was credited with at least half the songs in the Book of Psalms. We can read much of David's writing on these in;
Psalm 96 verses 1 to 13.
Psalm 105 verses 1 to 15.
Psalm 106 verse 1 and verse 48 and 47.
David challenges to his listeners is not just to be content with making a personal acknowledgement of God in their lives. Although we should certainly include in our thanksgiving, thankfulness, petitions and praise.
We should also include telling the nations what God has done.
1 Chronicles 16 verse 8: "Give thanks to the Lord, call on His name: proclaim His deed among the people."
And from the message Bible. 1 Chronicles 16 verse 8 to 12:
"Thank God! Call out His name! Tell the whole world who He is and what He's done! Sing to Him! Play songs for Him! Broadcast all his wonders! Revel in His Holy name, God-seekers, be jubilant! Study God and His strengths, seek His presence day and night; remember all the wonders he performed, the miracles and judgements that came out of His mouth."
God's people are called to be lights into the world, and David confirms this here.
For believers to proclaim the name of God, means to interact with other people and explain what they have discovered about God's character and what it means to know Him.
David is known as 'a man after God's own heart'.
Wouldn't it be good if people were to say that about us, in our dealings with them. They would want to know more of what we know, there in opening the door to real witness and testimony
God Bless.
