As I've been living most of my life in a landed property, I've not really experienced community living. I now realize the benefits of living in a low density condominium vs a high density condominium. In my opinion, the main benefit is there is less variety (of people).
With inflation and minimum wage requirements, it is no surprise why the maintenance fees would increase too. However, many people are upset about it and after some drama, the committee was replaced. Instead of making things better, they've succeeded in making things worse. (Mind you, we're still paying the increased maintenance fees.) The new committee that is so adamant in cutting cost have managed to cause the property to be dirtier and pool to be closed for almost a month now.
While I agree that appointed committee members should seek ways to reduce expenses, they should not be doing it at the expense of quality. Here's hoping that this current committee gets booted out.
