We are a family of book lovers. I was up very early with our daughter who is recovering from dental surgery. I was tired of television. We needed something to fill the time and space until the dawn rose. I had been given this book by a dear old friend who knows how much I love libraries and books. In many ways, he is my Bob Comet. I read this to my daughter last night. In this little tome, we met Bob Comet. Bob Comet is our very ordinary man who sees people for who they are. He is a man who one would think has been cut short in life, yet, he hasn't. He was a fatherless boy who wants to be a librarian. That is his dream, he lives his life through books. Bob Comet meets a woman when he is 24 years and they marry. She runs off with his best friend Ethan. Bob Comet isn't angry with his best friend or his wife. He discovered her betrayal when a string is perfectly tied in a bow on her dominant hand. Ethan is then run over by a car after Bob and his wife divorce. The story comes full circle at the end. The message of this book we all want to be seen and remembered.
