Night Shelter Transformation Fund Opens for Second Round
The Department for Levelling Up, House and Communities (DLUHC) has announced the second and final round of its Night Shelter Transformation Fund, which seeks to provide investment to enable longer-term, sustainable transformation of services and help to end rough sleeping for good.
Constituted voluntary, community, social enterprise and faith sector organisations can apply to this round.
The fund offers two distinct streams:
- Capital grants of £25,000 to £100,000 (for one year).
- Revenue grants of £10,000 to £100,000 (for up to two years).
The revenue stream will fund staff, running and operational costs – including small scale refurbishments such as painting and decorating costs. The capital stream will fund building-based works, including property or land purchase and significant renovations to existing sites.
The deadline to apply is 7th July, 2023.
Night Shelter Transformation Fund Details
Applications Invited to PRS Foundation's Open Fund
Funding is available for not-for-profit organisations to support new music projects led by promoters, large performance groups, talent development organisations, venues, festivals and curators.
Eligible projects must involve the creation, performance and promotion of new music and enable songwriters, composers, artists, bands and performers of all backgrounds to develop creatively and professionally.
Organisations may apply for up to £10,000.
The deadline for applications is 6pm on 10th July, 2023.
PRS Foundation's Open Fund Details
£7m Fund to Drive Student Attainment In Maths
The Maths Excellence Fund supports schools in England to improve student attainment and progression in maths from ages 11 to 16 and 16 to 18, increasing the number of students who are on track to succeed in A-level maths and beyond.
Lead Delivery Partners can be charities, multi-academy trusts, universities, local authorities or companies.
The Funding Round will make available a maximum of £7m for delivery costs. This will be deployed over five academic years, from 2024/25 to 2028/29.
Expressions of interest must be submitted by the deadline of 10am on 14th July, 2023.
The Maths Excellence Fund Details
Starbucks and Hubbub Launch 'Eat it Up Fund'
Launched by Hubbub, the environmental charity, in partnership with Starbucks, the new £200,000 Eat it Up Fund is offering grants of up to £40,000.
The fund is aimed at finding and supporting creative approaches to reducing food waste.
The fund will support UK registered organisations with an early-stage food waste project with potential for impact at scale.
A Q&A webinar will be held on 3rd July, 2023 (10.30am to 11.15am). Registration is required for this Zoom session.
The deadline for Expressions of Interest is 5pm on 21st July, 2023.
'Eat it Up Fund' Details
£48 million Funding Injection for Higher Technical Education Skills
The purpose of this fund is to help providers offer more Higher Technical Qualifications (HTQs), supporting the growth of level 4 and 5 qualifications.
This fund consists of:
- £29.8 million for capital funding - funding can be spent on specialist equipment and perpetual software licence costs only. The construction of new buildings is not permitted although refurbishing existing premises is.
- £19 million for resource funding - funding can be used across any combination of eligible categories, as fits the local needs.
Applications must be submitted by the deadline of 11.59pm on 21st July, 2023.
Higher Technical Education Skills Injection Fund Details
Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust Reopens for Third Round of 2023
The Austin and Hope Pilkington Trust focuses on a different set of priorities each year, and round three will focus on projects relating to children and young people in care and care leavers.
During this round, charities can apply for grants of £1,000.
Applications are accepted until 31st July, 2023.

Funding for Community Hubs that Support Asylum Seekers and Refugees
The charity Migrant Help is currently accepting applications from not-for-profit organisations that need a small grant to start a new community hub, or expand an existing hub, in order to support asylum seekers, refugees and survivors of modern-day slavery in the UK.
Two grants are available:
- Small bridging grants of up to £2,000
- Sustainability and start up grants of up to £5,000
The next deadline for applications is 31st July, 2023.

Get it Made Launches 2023 Women in Engineering Grant
A grant scheme is now open to female-led enterprises operating in the UK engineering sector to help scale up production and progress to the next level of development.
Applications are being accepted for the 2023 Women in Engineering Grant provided by London based manufacturing services company, Get It Made.
The manufacturing grant consists of £5,000 that can be used when ordering any of Get it Made's manufacturing services.
Applications close at midnight on 31st July, 2023.

Innovate UK Launches Local Industrial Decarbonisation Plans Competition
The Local Industrial Decarbonisation Plans Competition provides support for industrial manufacturers, not located within the UK's existing industrial clusters, to develop plans to reduce their emissions and avoid carbon leakage.
The programme has a total budget of £5 million to fund feasibility studies. Each project's total grant funding request must be between £75,000 and £800,000.
The competition is open to collaborations only. To lead a project an organisation must be a UK registered business of any size, charity, not for profit, research and technology organisation (RTO), or public sector organisation.
The deadline for application is 11am on 2nd August, 2023.
Local Industrial Decarbonisation Plans Competition Details
Armed Forces Covenant Trust Launches Transformational Grants Round Two
The second round of funding for transformational work with vulnerable Armed Forces communities is now available, offering grants of up to £300,000 over three to five years.
The fund is open to charities and applicants are not required to be Armed Forces-specific, but they must work in partnership with Armed Forces organisations.
The deadline to submit an Expression of Interest is 5pm on 14th August, 2023.
Transformational Grants Fund Details
Place of Worship Protective Security Fund Opens for 2023/24 Applications
In 2023/24, there are grant two schemes, covered by the same application form:
- Places of Worship Protective Security Funding Scheme
- Protective Security for Mosques Scheme
Grants can cover the costs of protective measures from the following list:
- CCTV (fixed cameras, not pan-tilt cameras)
- Fencing and/or railings (no more than 2.1m high)
- Manually operated pedestrian and vehicle gates
- Door hardening, locks and mail-box/mail bag
- Reinforcing single glazed windows (with anti-shatter film or bars/grilles only)
- Intruder alarms including integrated smoke/heat detection
- Door entry access control (fob or keypad)
- Video intercom systems
- Lighting (building mounted)
Applicants do not need to choose what they would like to apply for in advance. If successful, a survey will be carried out at the place of worship. During this survey, the most appropriate measures for the site will be discussed.
The deadline to apply is 15th August, 2023.

Lloyd's Bank Foundation Opens Newest Funding Programme
Unrestricted grants of £75,000 over three years (£25,000 per year) are now available to d/Deaf and disabled people's organisations.
The programme is open to registered charities and charitable incorporated organisations. The grants are not restricted and can be spent according to an organisation's needs.
The deadline to apply is 5pm on 31st August, 2023.

Which? Fund Opens for Applications
Which?, the UK's consumer champion, is inviting UK registered charities, universities and not-for-profit Community Interest Companies to apply for a share of the £75,000 being made available for 2023/24.
There is no set minimum or maximum grant.
Applications will be accepted until 5pm on 18th September, 2023.

PRS Foundation's Annual Beyond Borders Programme Opens for Applications
Running since 2010, the PRS for Music Foundation's Beyond Borders programme supports the creation, touring and promotion of innovative and high-quality new music across all genres.
The funding is available for projects that include repeat performances of music written in the past five years, new commissions and recordings.
Grants of up to £15,000 are available.
The deadline for applications is 6pm on 18th September, 2023.

Innovate UK Announces New Round of Smart Grants
The Smart Grants programme is a 'responsive' grant funding programme from Innovate UK (IUK).
Applications can come from any area of technology and be applied to any part of the economy such as, but not exclusively, net zero, the arts, design and media.
IUK has allocated up to £25 million to fund innovation projects in this competition.
The competition is open to single applicants and collaborations.
The deadline for applications is 11am on 27th September, 2023.
Innovate UK Smart Grant Details
Funding for Small Independent Museums to Tell New Stories and Attract New Audiences
The Association of Independent Museums (AiM), in partnership with the Heritage Fund, is offering grants of up to £15,000 for smaller independent museums.
Funding can be used to cover direct project costs such as volunteer expenses, training costs, events costs (including room hire, refreshments and equipment), small capital works (including purchasing equipment, digitisation, and minor building work), costs to improve access. etc
AIM members in the small museum category (up to 20,000 visitors) that seek to work with new partners and try new ideas can apply.
The deadline for applications is 31st October, 2023.

Expressions of Interest for £1m Defibrillator Fund
The Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) is inviting community organisations to bid for funding for an automated external defibrillator (AED) for their area.
Local community organisations, such as sports clubs, local theatres, community halls, etc., may register their interest now.
Expressions of Interest are currently being accepted.

Wolfson Foundation Hospice Care Training Programme
Hospice UK and Wolfson Foundation are working in partnership to deliver a grants programme that will contribute towards the cost of courses and study days, focused specifically on dementia care, run by a hospice (or group of hospices) for local care homes.
Funding of up to £2,000 is available.
The fund is open to applications on a rolling basis.
Hospice Training Programme Details
Homes England Announces Changes to Affordable Housing
The Government's Affordable Homes Programme (2021-26) provides grant funding to support the capital costs of developing affordable housing for rent or sale in England.
The programme's administering body, Homes England, has announced that grants can now be used to fund replacement homes, alongside new affordable homes, as part of wider estate regeneration plans.
Providers can apply through Homes England's continuous market engagement route, while existing Strategic Partners will be able to use grants already allocated to them.
