Romans 12 Verse 1: "Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship."
The fact that we are saved by faith doesn't give us the right to sit back and relax. We express that faith through what we do and say. The rest of Romans 12; goes on to talk about how the Church should act. Once we let the transforming power of the Holy Spirit change the way we think, then we will know what to do to please Our Loving Creator God.
Paul goes on to list, a challenging and inspiring list of things that all of us should try to do. Often referred to as Christian Ethics.
Love must be without hypocrisy.
Detest evil.
Cling to what is good.
Show family affection to one another with brotherly love.
Outdo one another in showing honor.
Do not lack diligence.
Be fervent in Spirit.
Serve the Lord.
Rejoice in hope.
Be patient in affliction.
Be persistent in prayer.
Share with the saints in their needs.
Pursue hospitality.
Bless them that persecute you.
Bless and not curse.
Rejoice with those that rejoice.
Weep with those that weep.
Be in agreement with one another.
Do not be proud.
Instead, associated with the humble.
Do not be wise in your own estimation.
Do not repay evil for evil.
Try to do what is honorable in everyone's eyes.
If possible on your part, live at peace with everyone.
Friends do not avenge yourselves; instead leave room for His wrath.
If your enemy is hungry feed him, If he is thirsty, give him something to drink. For in doing you will be heaping fiery coals on his head.
Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with good.
Simple things, all of which express our love for God and reflect the great love that He has shown us all.
God Bless.
