2 Timothy 1 verse 6: {Amplified Bible}
"That is why I would remind you to stir up — rekindle the embers, fan the flame and keep burning — the {gracious} gift of God, {the inner fire} that is in you by means of the laying on of hands".
Ecclesiastes tells us {3 verse 1}, there is a time of everything. Perhaps we in our lives have come to a time, 'to rekindle the embers, fan the flame and keep burning, the Gracious Gift of God within us'.
Matthew 25 verse 1 to 13; is the Story of the 10 Virgins; There were 5 foolish and five who were sensible. The five who were sensible there lamp was always working and they had oil to keep it burning, the five foolish there lamps were not being used as they should, they allowed their lamps to run out of oil.
It is easier to keep a fire going then what it is to try to relight it. It is easier to turn on a lamp, that is plug in to the source of power, than to try to use it without a power source.
Acts 2 verse 3 Pentecost: "And tongues, like flames of fire that were divided, appeared to them and rested on each one of them.'
We are going to finish with a poem I wrote over 30 years ago, and have used before, 'The Burning Within'. Which in a way explains why it is necessary, to keep the Fire Of God in our lives, ablaze.
The fire that God gives to your life through His Son Jesus Christ let it burn.
Burning away what shouldn't be there.
Burning and making a radiant glare.
To testify to what God has given.
The fire that God gives to your life, that you might have life everlasting, let it burn.
Burning away the hatred and sin.
Burning that makes a new life begin.
To testify to what God has given.
The fire that God gives to your life by His Spirit, let it burn.
Burning away your corrupted desire.
Burning away that sets your worship on fire.
To testify to what God has given.
The fire that God gives, that you may have the fullness in living, let it burn.
Burning away all slothfulness and complaining.
Burning that makes you more eager for learning.
To testify to what God has given.
The fire that God gives, that you might share a burden for others, let it burn.
Burning away all jealousy and misgiving.
Burning from with from the center of your being.
To testify what God has given.
Let it burn.
God Bless
