Set your mind apart, for all Our Lord And Our Friend has done for us.
Colossians 3 verse 2: "Set your minds on what is above, not what is on the earth".
It is not saying to be so heavenly minded, that we are of little effect on our journey through this world. Our relationship with Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend should shapes every relationship with have with other people.
Our relationship with Our Lord. Our Redeemer and Our Friend should have such an important effect, on our working relationship, on our marriages, on our relationships with friends and acquaintances, because we should be known by our love. Love that is from Him, because His is an uplifting love.
The Apostle Paul is conveying to us, through the theme of his writing: Don't go through life looking down or just looking at the things in front of us, Paul is saying, 'Look up and be alert to what is going on around Christ Jesus, that is where the real action is.
The Christian faith is more than a religious faith, the Christian faith, focuses on heaven where Christ is seated at the right hand of The Father. This is not turning our back to the things of the world, it is understanding that through Him, we can do all things. Philippians 4 verse 13:
"I am able to do all things through Him, Who strengthens me."
The relationship that exists between Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend and His people is hidden from the eyes of the people of this world. Though they see us going about our daily business, they are unaware that the strength by which we live.
We can only draw upon this for living, as our daily relationship looks to Our Lord, Our Redeemer, and Our Friend. Hebrews !2 verse 2:
"Keeping our eyes on Jesus, the source and perfecter of our faith, Who for the joy that lay before Him endured a cross and despised the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of God's throne".
Set our minds on Him, He has so much for us, to reach a dying world.
God Bless.
