"Then Jesus came to them and said, 'All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit.'"
This text serves as the Great Commission given by Christ to His followers. It emphasizes the authority of Jesus and the responsibility entrusted to His followers to spread the Gospel.
Based on this critical text, here's a morning prayer:
Heavenly Father,
In the name of Jesus Christ, who declared that all authority in heaven and on earth is His, we approach Your throne of grace this morning. We are humbled and honored to be part of Your divine plan, to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in Your glorious name.
We acknowledge, Lord, the magnitude of this mission, and we pray for strength, guidance, and wisdom as we step into the world today. Equip us with love, compassion, and understanding to reach those who are lost, and empower us with the Holy Spirit to teach them Your ways.
Let the words of our mouths and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, our Rock and our Redeemer. May our actions reflect the love of Christ and our words be filled with the truth of Your Word.
Help us to remember the authority given to us through Christ and let us exercise that authority with humility and grace. May our lives be a living testimony to Your power and love, and may our hands and feet move according to Your perfect will.
In Jesus' name, we go forth this day, trusting in Your provision, protection, and abiding presence. Let Your kingdom come, and Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Amen.
This prayer draws from the message of Christ's authority and the commissioning of believers to carry forth the message of the Gospel. It's a reminder of our part in God's grand narrative, and a plea for divine guidance as we embark on the journey each day. May it guide and encourage you as you fulfill the call placed upon your life.
