Cling to The Cross

We have emotions, feelings all the same.

Good Christian, we all have known pain.

Our hearts have suffered grief and loss,

And in those times we cling to the cross.

When those last goodbyes are unspoken,

Sorrows come and our hearts are broken.

We question the why with word we shout;

Our hearts and minds try to reason it out.

In our days and nights we live in the grief;

It tries to steal our memories, this thief.

Although our eyes may overflow with tears,

In our hearts we hold our loved one near.

Limited is the time we have here to spend;

But our hearts know this life is not the end.

As this journey ends our true life will begin,

And one day we'll see our loved ones again.

Yes, Christians do suffer grief and loss,

But in those times we cling to the cross.

And our God is always faithful and true,

In that time of pain He sees us through.
