God instructed that a brazen serpent be lifted up on a pole. This speaks of a type of Atonement, that foreshadowed the atonement Our Lord, Our Redeemer and Our Friend achieved for us on the cross. John 3 Verse 16: "Any Whosoever", can accept the wonderful and awesome Atonement for themselves. The conditions to be met for healing in Numbers 21 Verse 8: "Then The Lord said to Moses, 'Make a snake image and mount it on a pole. When anyone who is bitten looks at it, he will recover'." Notice that none were to receive healing except on the condition that they looked. at it. Looking means to be influenced and convinced with what we are looking at. Looking means attention, attention to heed God's Word. Looking also means expectation. To look to Our Lord and Our Redeemer and Our Friend for Salvation and except the Salvation from Him. Look into the great Salvation that God has made available to "Any Whosoever" that looks with intent to receive all that is available from Our Loving God.
