Ron DeSantis has a rival for the runner up spot in the Granite State in the 2024 Republican race for the White House.
Both the Florida Governor and former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie are in low double digits, according to new polling from the Manhattan Institute.
The survey of 603 likely voters in the GOP presidential primary shows DeSantis at 13%, just two points ahead of Christie's 11%. Close behind Christie: Vivek Ramaswamy, with 8% support; Nikki Haley and Tim Scott, each at 7%
Front runner Donald Trump continues to dominate, with 34% support.
Trump's supporters say they are more committed to him than DeSantis' backers are to the Governor. While upwards of 75% of Trump supporters say they back him definitely, 60% of DeSantis backers say they may change their minds.
The Governor has devoted time to the state, as recently as last weekend when he promised to "start slitting throats on Day One" if elected President. But that time isn't paying off in polls.
Other New Hampshire polls have been in the field in July, all of which show DeSantis down against Trump to varying degrees.
A J.L. Partners poll reported last month by the British Daily Mail shows DeSantis with just 15% support, 27 points below Donald Trump's 42%.
The Granite State Poll from the University of New Hampshire Survey Center shows the Florida Governor just 14 points behind the former President, 37% to 23%.
The American Pulse survey conducted between July 5 and July 11 shows Trump with 48% and DeSantis with 10.5%, just 0.5% more than Christie's 10%.
A National Research Inc. survey of 500 likely GOP Primary voters conducted last month shows the Governor 24 points behind Trump, 39% to 15%.
The Race to the White House polling average shows Trump ahead of DeSantis 41% to 14% in a crowded field, and 49% to 29% if the race were somehow just two people.
