South Yorkshire Police is recruiting for the Police Constable Degree Apprenticeship (PCDA), Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP) and staff roles.
This event is ideal for anyone who's ever considered a career in uniform or joining the SYP family in a staff role.
The event will take place on Wednesday 23 August from 2pm-5pm, and will be held at Niagara Conference Centre, Niagara Road, Sheffield, S6 1LU.
Attendees will hear an opening presentation from the Assistant Chief Constable (David Hartley) followed by brief from Talent Acquisition Business Partner (Claire Humphries) on entry routes, eligibility criteria and assessment methods.
After the presentation, Police Dog Handlers will showcase the skills of the police dogs, carrying out a search demonstration, open land search and simulated pursuit onto the field and a decamp chase with a general-purpose dog.
Finally attendees will be able to circulate meeting and asking questions of facilitators to gain a further insight into a career with SYP. Teams attending will be:

- Investigation Training & Assessment Team
- Sheffield Hallam University
- Tactical Specialists including Firearms, Roads, Bikes, Public Support, Drones, Mounted
- Neighbourhoods Policing Team
- Equality Hub, Student Support
- Force Control Room, Atlas Court
- Force Wellbeing Lead & Sports and Social
- Recruitment Team and Positive Action
Candidates holding a degree in any subject can apply to the DHEP.
Job opportunities at the Force Control Room will be advertised throughout the year.
Between 1 August and 30 September 2023, SYP will be recruiting for the Degree Holder Entry Programme (DHEP).
