National Preparedness Month is observed each September to raise awareness about the importance of preparing for disasters and emergencies. Though preparedness is for everyone, this year's campaign focuses on preparing older adults and their caregivers for all kinds of hazards, as several factors make older adults more vulnerable to their impact.
