The blessing of the Lord
Proverbs 10 verse 22 tells us "The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He
adds no sorrow with it". NKJV This richness (wealth) is not just speaking of
finance, but family relationships, health, peace and destiny.
An example I heard, was of a man who worked long hours to make lots of
money but neglected time with his family. He ended up a wealthy man, but
the 'sorrow' was that his relationship with his wife and children was fractured.
Psalm 127, The Message, verses 1 and 2 "If God doesn't build the house, the
builders only build shacks. If God doesn't guard the city, the night watchman
might as well nap. It's useless to rise early and go to bed late and work your
worried fingers to the bone. Don't you know He enjoys giving rest to those He
loves?"
Our Lord and Our Friend enjoys giving rest to us, the ones He loves. He loves to
bless us and gives us wisdom to walk in His ways, which are 'good and
acceptable and perfect'. He desires relationship with each of His children and
has sent His Holy Spirit to be with us and in us, to lead us daily in our journey
on this earth.
Do we take time regularly to "be still and know that He is God"? it is so easy to
get side-tracked and give in to the busyness of the world around us, but we are
called to 'be lights in the darkness' and 'be not conformed to this world'. Our
Lord and Our Friend is the Prince of Peace, and as we have freely received, let
us freely give to those we have contact with. This 'peace that passes
understanding' is one of the blessings of the Lord that makes us rich.
Let's be aware of His Presence as wherever we are each day that others may
come to know Him and His blessings.
