Welcome to Day 2 of It's a Dog's Life challenge hosted by the lovely Carol from Just Let Me Quilt!
It's a Dog's Life Challenge
The challenge Carol set for us was this:
Sew your project with dog themed fabric or applique/embroidery of dogs.
As an added challenge, if dogs don't ring your bell, think vintage.
Vintage blocks, quilts, fabrics, or whatever old designs makes you happy.
I was quite excited because I had a good idea for this! And I was on a roll until I got sick three weeks ago...
Bee Vintage Scottie Dog
Since I started the Bee Vintage QAL I thought it would be really nice to make a cushion to go with the quilt... and use the Scottie Dog applique!
I had all the bits cut and traced, ready to sew...
It didn't take long to sew them up and press them...
I bought two types of cushion inserts because I wasn't sure what size I wanted it to be:
And got the backing and batting cut out ready to go...
I decided to go with the bigger size 16 cushion... Scottie looks good on it:
Although now that I am looking at it on the photo, I think it would look better one size bigger... back to Spotlight I must go!!!
So this is where I am at.... a cute little Vintage Scottie ready to applique...
Thanks Carol for hosting this blog hop - don't worry, I will finish the cushion...
